Dear All,
Those of you who are in the field of producing educational resources
might be interested in the advertisement below which appeared in today's
Education Guardian. Alternatively if you know of others who might wish
to bid for the work, please pass it on.
It should be an interesting and challenging assignment...
Regards

Production of Educational Resources
Large Hadron Collider Project
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC), due to open in late 2007 at CERN,
Geneva, will be one of the biggest scientific experiments in history. It
will recreate the conditions existing around one billionth of a second
after the Big Bang - and should help to answer some of our most
fundamental questions about the nature of the Universe. UK scientists
and engineers are playing a major part in this exciting scientific
adventure.
As part of a major communications programme, the Particle Physics and
Astronomy Research Council (PPARC) wishes to produce a resource package
that will enable teachers to use the LHC as a context for teaching and
help them to convey the excitement of the project to students aged
11-18. The resources will need to be innovative, suitable for use in a
range of contexts and with a range of ages and abilities. Above all
they need to enthuse both teachers and students about contemporary
physics. You will find details of the project at
www.pparc.ac.uk/Ed/LHCEd.asp .
If you can meet this challenge, we would like to hear from you.
Please contact Michelle Pearce ([log in to unmask] Tel: 01793 442590) for
further information and an invitation to tender for this work.
All requests for an invitation to tender should be received by 12
January 2007 and the tender return date is 19 January 2007
