I don't think there is a problem accepting other people's spiritual
views implicit in all this, it is just that we don't accept that
spiritual beliefs and writings have anything to do with providing a
literal description of how the physical world functions, although they
might provide metaphorical ones. Spiritual beliefs and scientific
knowledge do fundamentally different things and the trouble only arises
when someone insists one should negate or supplant the other.
