Press Officer £25,000 p.a. + benefits
With more than 2 million visitors each year and ambitious plans, the
Science Museum is going places. Our Press Office is at the top of its
game – up for a gong at the PR Week Awards in October.
Our enthusiastic Press team is constantly devising new, innovative ways to
promote the Museum, its exhibitions and programmes, creating campaigns
that not only win awards, but attract visitors and reflect the cutting-
edge nature of this high-profile national institution.
You’ll have a background in PR, communications or journalism and a solid
track record of structuring and managing Press and PR campaigns. You’ll be
able to show how you have built and maintained strong relationships with
the media, and be able to demonstrate how you have proactively increased
media coverage in previous posts. You will also have strong experience
of “selling in”, be tenacious and persuasive - able to keep going until
you land the piece you are working on. In addition you will be comfortable
using your strong administrative and organisational skills to help the
office run to maximum effect.
Closing date: 10th October 2006.
In shortlisting for interview, priority will be given to applicants whose
covering letters and CVs explicitly demonstrate their suitability in terms
of the full job description.
