Media Assistant - maternity cover
£18,142-£20,538 (plus benefits, pay review pending)
Swindon
BBSRC is looking for an enthusiastic graduate with excellent communications skills to join its busy media office to cover a period of maternity leave.
BBSRC is the UK's principal public funder for research across the biological sciences. We finance research that advances knowledge and supports the pharmaceutical, land-use and other sectors, as well as improving quality of life.
If you have a grounding in media and PR work and are looking for work experience to launch your career, we have a six-month vacancy that will enable you to contribute to a busy media office and gain hands-on experience of everything from drafting releases and fielding enquiries to monitoring and recording coverage and planning diaries.
Ideally you will be educated to degree or equivalent level with a qualification in journalism, PR, science communication or related areas. Flexibility and a willingness to work in a small team are essential, as are good organizational, communication and IT skills.
As well as a competitive salary, you'll also benefit from a final salary pension scheme, a generous annual leave allowance, flexible working hours and excellent on-site facilities including a subsidised coffee shop and restaurant.
