Wonderful. It is good to know that people have easy access to some of the
more important pieces of paper on science policy as it was practised before
the Internet.
It is all too easy to think that if something isn't on the Web, then it
didn't happen.
If someone really ants to do us a favour, come on Wellcome, they could find
a scan of this stuff into PDF files. My own small library of oddball books
and reports is available at a small fee.
One day I plan to convert to PDF the book wot I rote I the 1970s on energy
technology. It is scarily similar to much of the guff spouted today.

And for completeness, the Royal Society library has copies of both
"Science at War" and "Science and The Nation".
The Royal Society's library specialises in history of science and
science policy - especially activities that involved our Fellows (which
both those books did). Anyone can use the library - you just need some
photo and address id to register. Details, catalogue etc:

The Wellcome Library holds the second title mentioned by Michael
(Science and the nation, 1947) and probably more on the subject. You
can search the catalogue at http://library.wellcome.ac.uk/. The Library
is open to all.
