Having graduated this summer with a 2:2 degree in Biological Sciences
(Genetics) from the University of Leicester I have decided to apply for the
MSc in Science Communication at Imperial College London, starting in October
2007. During this 'gap' year I am trying to gain some work or volunteering
experience in a communication capacity that would aid my application. I was
wondering if there would be any opportunities to gain this experience with
any of the list members during the next year.
I want to move into a science journalism or a related career path to use my
understanding of science to provide a wider audience with this information
in a clear and understandable manner. I also feel that with the current
controversies surrounding science such as evolution, stem cell and medical
research it is important that information is provided in a manner that
cannot be misunderstood or inappropriately interpreted.
I am incredibly determined to follow this career path and would be prepared
to take any position that was available or would be very grateful of any
advice if a position was not open.
I can provide a full CV if that is required or any further details that may
be needed, please e-mail [log in to unmask]
Thanks
Simon Shears
