Subject: books IN American English phonetic transcription
Dear Dr Shockey,
sorry to bother you: I'm a young English teacher in France (Paris) - I
passed the competitive exam and started teaching last year - and would
like to know if you could recommend any books written in American phonetic
(or phonemic) transcription.
My point is not to loose the level of pronunciation (with an general
American accent) I acquired during my studies so as not to teach anything
wrong to my pupils - more experienced teachers tell me how quicky their
level decreased.
If it were possible, titles of fictional books in American English
phonetic transcription would be more helpful, but any works in American
transciption would also allow me to keep training on a regular basis.
Thank you
Sincerely
Daivy Babel
