Dear all,
You are cordially invited to submit abstracts for the "data mining"
stream of this year's OR conference to be held at the University of Bath
(September 11-13, 2006).
This stream aims to explore new trends and applications within the broad
area of data mining and knowledge discovery. This field of study is
concerned with analysing (possibly huge) amounts of data using
computational techniques from various areas such as statistics, machine
learning, etc. From a technical perspective, we invite papers
presenting new promising approaches and algorithms, or other original
contributions. From an applications perspective, we are interested in
practical applications of data mining and knowledge discovery in various
domains such as marketing, finance, e-business, the public sector, etc.
To facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences among participants,
we welcome researchers from diverse academic backgrounds (OR, computer
science, etc.), as well as practitioners.
We are basically looking for 200-words abstracts and 20-minute
presentations: no full paper is required, so it might also be a good
opportunity to present and discuss work in progress. A first draft of
the abstract is due on April 14th but you can still revise it later.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like a bit of feedback
or any other information!
Kind regards,
Christophe
