CFP Special Issue: ACM TOMACS
Successes in Modeling and Simulation Methodologies
Guest Editors: Simon J E Taylor (Brunel University) and George Riley (Georgia Tech)
The use of computer-based modeling and simulation is prevalent in most areas of scientific endeavour and often represents some of the best applications of computer science. However, success stories of the application of M&S are lacking in literature. To present an opportunity to "showcase" some of the best of these, the ACM TOMACS Journal is seeking papers describing recent success stories of the use of novel techniques to produce efficient and accurate simulations of physical phenomenon. Submissions discussing simulations of systems in new or existing application domains are encouraged, as well as successes in the use of new technologies to better M&S. Example topic areas include:
Aerodynamics and aviation
Atmospheric modeling and weather prediction
Business process re-engineering
Chemical reactions
Computer networks on ultra-large scale
Decision support
Defense
Health care
Logistics
Manufacturing
Micro-biological cellular behavior
Nuclear physics
Quantum physics
Supply chain analysis
Vehicular traffic and roadways
Work-flow in discrete-event systems
