Hi Everyone
I am currently reviewing all of our clinical policies and best practice
procedures, with a view to reflecting the HSE Controlling Noise at Work
Regs Guidance Document. In the course of my research have come across
several references to BSI (and ISO) publications. The two I am particularly
interested in seeing are:
British Standards Institute "specification for pure tone air conduction
threshold audiometry for hearing conservation purposes (BS 6655:1986)"
and
"Acoustics. Hearing Protectors. Sound attenuation of hearing protectors.
Subjective method of measurement (BS EN 24869 - 1:1990)"
They will cost me £56 each to buy, and I am not sure whether they are what
I need or will go into greater depth than I need to, so am reluctant to
spend the cash at this point.
I have spoken with the British Society of Audiology and purchased some
useful and interesting publications from them, but they also make reference
to these BSI publications. THe RCN library can't help, and so far my local
library isn't much better. The world wide web has turned up very little so
far....
Does anyone have a copy I could peruse or borrow, or has anyone out there
read them (and is still living to tell the tale)would they recommend them?
Thanks
