The Rapid Environmental Impact Assessment (REA) process quickly identifies
salient, life threatening, environmental issues during relief operations. The
REA leads to more effective relief operations, reduced future negative impacts
arising from interaction with the environment and actualization of the "do no
harm" approach to humanitarian assistance.
