Dear Collegues,
The institute of physics Molecular Physics Group will be holding a one-day
meeting on July 6th, 2006 at the University of York entitled “Spectroscopy
and Dynamics across the Spectrum.” The aim of the meeting is to
illustrate the use of novel spectroscopic techniques to investigate
molecular physics. Invited speakers will include;
Prof. Maurice Janssen (Vrije Universiteit, Netherlands)
Prof. Stephen Meech (University of East Anglia)
Prof. Jonathan Tennyson (University College London)
Prof. Andrew Orr-Ewing (Bristol University)
Dr. Andrew Ellis (Leciester University)
Dr. June McCombie (Nottingham University)
Dr. Andrew Alexander (Edinburgh University)
Dr. Karen Wilson (University of York)
Dr. Vasilios Stavros (Warwick University)
The meeting will be preceded by the ANUMOCP (Annual Northern Universities
Meeting of Chemical Physics) one-day meeting on July 5th. As usual, this
will be an informal meeting of physical chemistry and chemical physics
researchers, where young researchers are allowed to talk about their work
in a friendly and stimulating environment. Although this meeting is
usually restricted to researchers from the Midlands, North of England and
Scotland, this year we will be encouraging participation from all over the
UK to encourage group members to attend both days of the joint meeting.
There will be a cost of £15 per day for students, and £27 per day for non
students to cover the cost of lunch and refreshments. For participants
staying overnight, the cost for the two day meeting (including
accommodation, lunches, dinner and refreshments) will be £55 for student
members of the IOP or £100 for non-students. Late registration (if
accepted) may be subject to a surcharge.
To register, please e-mail Dr Caroline Dessent ([log in to unmask]) by June
14th. Include which days you plan to attend, whether you require
overnight accommodation, and details of any dietary requirements/special
needs. Titles of short talks (approx. 20 mins) for the ANUMOCP day of the
meeting should also be sent by e-mail to Dr. Caroline Dessent
([log in to unmask]) by June 14th.
For travel details, please see the web page http://www.york.ac.uk/np/maps
Further details are available from Dr Caroline Dessent ([log in to unmask])
or via the Institute of Physics website (http://www.iop.org),
Best Regards,
Caroline Dessent (Local Organizer)
