Dear colleagues,
We are wondering if the community would be able to help
us with our injection seeder repair attempt. It is a 1994
Lightwave Electronics 101-04 diode-pumped 10mW, 1064nm
NPRO laser. Apparently, Lightwave was acquired by JDS
Uniphase, where it was renamed to NPRO 101-1064-010, but
production and support of this model has already been
discontinued.
We have successfully replaced the damaged diode laser,
but evidently the cavity requires further adjustment.
It is rather tricky to align the collimating GRIN lens.
Originally, it was glued on top of the diode (as if it
was first aligned being held in an external fixture),
and now it is extremely difficult to attach it to the
new diode correctly - the scale of components (the whole
thing would fit in a matchbox) complicates everything.
We would appreciate any counsel on the subject: success
stories, relevant surplus suppliers, third party repair
shops, etc. - any input will be much appreciated.
Sincerely,
-Daniel Matsiev
