Dear colleagues,
I kindly ask you to bring the job announcement below
to the attention of potential candidates.
===========================================================
2 years Post-Doc position in laboratory astrophysics
at Leiden Observatory, the Netherlands.
In the laboratory for astrophysics, Leiden Observatory,
the Netherlands, we have a vacancy for a 2-years Post-Doc
position in the field of solid state astrochemistry.
The research involves UHV and cryogenic techniques, TPD
and RAIRS, as well as atomic beam lines and XUV sources.
The research focus is on the characterization of chemical
processes in interstellar ice analogues.
Our 'ideal candidate' has a strong background in
experimental physics / chemical physics / physical
chemistry. Interpretation of the data requires experience
with astrophysical problems and chemical modelling.
The position involves co-supervison of two PhD students
and a close collaboration with a Post-Doc colleague in the
field of Monte Carlo simulations of surface processes.
Interaction with astronomical observations of star-forming
regions is envisaged. The position fits within a program
for talented young researchers, supported by Leiden
Observatory that may result in a further extension of
this position.
Candidates are requested to submit a detailed application and
three letters of recommendation. We aim to fill this position
in summer 2007, but a starting date as soon as april 1st 2007
is negotiable.
Address your application to [log in to unmask] or via
regular mail to the address below. Review of the applications
starts February 1st, 2007.
