First announcement - 20th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MOLECULAR ENERGY
TRANSFER (COMET XX)
The International Conference on Molecular Energy Transfer (COMET) is
organised every four years in Europe in alternation with the Gordon
Research Conference of the same name (GRCMET). The 20th edition will take
place from Sunday June 3 to Thursday June 7 2007 in Arcachon, France, a
seaside resort situated in the south west of France 60 km from Bordeaux.
The area is particularly famous for its basin opening onto the Atlantic
Ocean and the Pyla dune which is 105 m high.
COMET XX will highlight the most recent experimental and theoretical
advances in the field, including: energy transfer in chemical reactions,
inelastic collisions, cold collisions, in clusters, at interfaces, in
biologically relevant systems and in photon-matter interactions. Sessions
will include invited lectures, hot topics and posters. The preliminary
list of invited speakers includes Luis Baņares (Madrid), Simonetta Cavalli
(Perugia), Jong-Ho Choi (Seoul), Floyd Davis (Cornell), William Hase
(Texas Tech. University), Roman Krems (Vancouver), Tamotsu Kondow (Tokyo),
Anne McCoy (Columbus), Massimo Olivucci (Sienna), Steven Stolte
(Amsterdam), Roland Wester (Freiburg) and Alec Wodtke (Santa Barbara).
PhD students and post-doctoral fellows are particularly welcome. A special
two-day (2-3 June 2007) Graduate Research Seminar on Molecular Energy
Transfer will be organised for them at the same venue. Two presentations
will be selected during this seminar to be included as oral communications
in the programme of COMET XX.
Information will be continuously updated on the web site:

Please bookmark these dates in your calendar.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference.
