POSTDOCTORAL POSITION at ENS-Paris:
Femtosecond spectroscopy studies on biological photoreceptors
A 2-year postdoctoral position is open in the Group of Ultrafast Spectroscopy at the Department
of Chemistry of Ecole Normale Superieure - Paris, starting from January 2007. The position is
related to a Research Project devoted to molecular processes involved in the light perception by
photomotile cells. Researches will in particular include the study of light-activated flavoproteins,
by transient absorption spectroscopy with sub-50-fs time resolution. Part of the work will also be
devoted to the study of macromolecular ensembles mimicking the observed photoreactions. The
position involves collaborations with chemists, physical chemists and biologists and partial
supervision of a PhD student.
The fellowship is funded by the French "Agence Nationale de la Recherche" (ANR). The net monthly
salary will be 1800 euros (income tax not deducted).
The candidate should have a solid experience in ultrafast spectroscopy applied to physical
chemistry. Experience in the field of life sciences will be appreciated.
Candidates should send a cover letter, a resume with publication list and 2 or 3 recommendation
letters to:
