Dear Marianne
We invited the company to come along and give us a demo. We then decided it wasn't suitable for our students. We couldn't get the model to go in different positions and the baby comes out in a straight line, rather than following the curve of the sacrum so it was very unrealistic. We don't have many births that would have women wired up to ECG etc so we decided that it wasn't value for money. P
We also decided not to buy the neonate because it had a fixed jaw and the Newborn Life Support course places a lot of emphasis on head position and jaw thrust. However, I've heard that the company have taken the comments on board and have developed a model with a more flexible jaw. I haven't seen it yet so I can't comment on how effective it is.
Best wishes,
Joan Cameron

Hello List Members
I’m a lecture in a Midwifery School. We are in the process of expanding
the Skillslab. By this occasion I found a description about a new Birth
simulator “Computer Interactive NOELLE”. It is expensive (US Dollar
19,995.00.
My question:
 Does anybody have experience with this simulator?
 Is it worth paying so much monney for a simulator?
Thanks for any answers.
Regards Marianne Haueter
