WORKSHOP: History of Clinical Iatrogenesis - Before and after Ivan Illich
30 years after the publication of Ivan Illich's controversial book
Medical Nemesis, the Centre for the History of Science, Technology and
Medicine at the University of Manchester, hosts a one-day workshop on
the history of problems and diseases that are caused by modern medicine.
Speakers include Professor Sir George Alberti (President of the Royal
College of Physicians, 1997-2002), Dr Robert Bud (Science Museum, London),
Professor Michael Worboys and Professor Susan Lederer (Yale University).
