The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion is an academic research
enterprise based at St Edmund's College, Cambridge.
The Faraday Institute is offering informed and intellectually rigorous
courses on the relationship between science and religion delivered by
speakers eminent in their own disciplines and in this inter-disciplinary
field.
Post-doc and student fees are heavily discounted and bursaries are
available for delegates from low-income countries. The first courses are
as follows:
Short course no. 1: ‘Introduction to Science and Religion’, April 7-9,
2006.
Programme topics include: Historical interactions between science and
religion; models for relating science and faith; does evolution have any
religious significance?; science and the question of miracles; why care
about the environment?
Speakers: Prof. Colin Russell; Revd Dr John Polkinghorne KBE FRS; Dr
Denis Alexander, Prof. R. J. Berry; Prof. Colin Humphreys; Prof. Bob
White FRS; Dr Paula Clifford.
Summer Course no. 1: July 16-29, 2006
This course will be organised as two one-week Units; delegates may
attend either or both weeks:
Week1: ‘The Big Questions in Science and Religion’
Week 2: ‘Science, Philosophy and Theology’

Simon Conway Morris FRS, Prof. Jeff Schloss, Prof. Gareth Jones, Dr
