I don't think that anyone's really advocating that, but as with the
minimum wage ;^) a certain consistent base level should be expected and
supported.

One problem I with the issues raised in this discussion is: Should all
museums be aspiring to have the same level of web prescence?
I don't expect Mr Mali's newsagent to have the same web presence as
Tesco (does anyone else?). Do users really expect the same web offering
from a one room village museum as the do from a National Museum?
I would find it really strange if a specialist pottery shop was branded
included in the same "brand" as Selfridges (other than very generically
as "shops"). Do users really see a Fan museum as the same "product" as
Buckinghamshire Museum?
