Actually i think we need technologies allowing people to
express their opinion an to easily author their own
content using our resources, like in BBC Backstage.
http://backstage.bbc.co.uk/
I think this is the revolution: participation.
In the Katrina <http://www.scipionus.com/katrina.html>
hurricane map the real innovation is the possibility to
add bookmarks, as in OhMyNews
(http://english.ohmynews.com/) it is the fact that news
are written from the readers.
For museums, it means not only provide information, but
actively involving visitors in meaning-making: making
knowledge creation in museums a collaborative process
shared between museus staff and the public.
And we don't need particular stuff: when you put your
collection online just allow to enter comments, so that
people can post their interpretation.
For the visitors, it would be the first time they can say
what they think about objects and about our interpretation
of the objects;
for us it would be an actual feedback.
Don't agree?
