*** apologies for cross posting ***
For the second year running, CILIP in London is hosting a talk and reception
at Members' Day on 26 October 2006.
The talk this year is entitled "The Importance of Keeping our History".
Our guest speaker needs little introduction. Tony Benn was 50 years in
Parliament, 11 in the Cabinet. He has kept a diary for 62 years and as an
archivist has material going back 71 years. He says this material is
crowding him out of house and home but he uses it all the time. Come and see
our distinguished guest give his views on why it is important that we as a
nation safeguard our history.
The talk begins at 18.00 in the Brunei Gallery at SOAS. It will be followed
by a reception at 19.00. The reception has been made possible by generous
sponsorship of Swets UK and with financial support from CILIP in London.
Tickets can be purchased upon registration and cost £10 inc VAT. A limited
number of tickets are available so delegates will be booked in on a first
come first served basis.
