Thanks for circulating this. If my jopurney to Lodnon this p.m. had been
less horrendous, and I had therefore arrived at the Bib.Soc.-Library
Working Group in a better frame of mind, I would have wave the situation at
those present.
Can still circulate to Bib. Soc. Council if you think that would help.
My own, perhaps idiosyncratic view, is that the cause was lost long
since, and that ever since the library moved out and the Grand court moved
in, the use of the Round Readding Room, where I spent so many happy hours,
has been a perfect travesty. It moves me, literally, to tears.
The desecration is already so nearly complete, that complete desecration
might even be preferable.
Forgive me, I do not write this is the right mood.
