The Library of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) has just completed cataloguing its collection of 18th and 19th century anti-slavery literature. 2,386 items have been added to the on-line catalogue www.quaker.org.uk/cat, including 31 items new to ESTC. In addition, the Library's extensive runs of anti-slavery periodicals have been catalogued. Previously, the various paper lists to the anti-slavery collection were only available in the Library. The cataloguing project was made possible thanks to funding from the W.A. Cadbury Trust, the Edith Ellis Trust, the C.B & H.H. Taylor Trust and the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust.
The Library has also produced a sources guide to materials about Quakers and the abolition movement, which can be downloaded from our website www.quaker.org.uk/library, where there is also general information about access to the Library.
