Hi Marion,
We have one module (see
http://hsc.uwe.ac.uk/modules/viewbymodlead3.asp?linkID=1054 ) where the
inclusion of a search history is a requirment.
I often do a hands on IT based session to enable them to achieve this &
find large numbers who don't have these skills (beginning of 3rd year)
but also lots for whom the techniques are familiar (at least using OVID)

Subject: search strategy - assessment
Hello all
Apparently, in some Schools of Nursing, when students give in their
essays they are expected to attach their search strategy to the essay,
as proof that they do actually know how to search. Do your students do
this?
It seems like a good way to ensure that students do actually acquire
some searching skills. Please let me know whether, and how, your students
searching skills are assessed.
Many thanks
Marion
