The Faculty of Health & Social Care at the Open University is seeking to
appoint a lecturer with expertise in online learning and student support
to contribute to a series of initiatives aimed at expanding our curriculum
offerings. This 2 year fixed term post will focus on: working with a small
team of curriculum specialists and consultants to design and build an
online delivery framework for HSC courses using the new OU Virtual
Learning Environment (based on Moodle); developing specific online
learning materials for a Level 3 Clinical Dissertation course and for post-
qualifying/Masters modules; contributing to staff development workshops
around creating effective online learning; and carrying out targeted
research that will add to our understanding of online learning.
We are looking for a proven track record in developing internet-based
learning programmes, a sound grasp of pedagogy using new media and a
background in the broad Social Sciences, ideally with experience of health
and social care education and training.
