Following the message that was circulated to the list about Zetoc RSS, we
should clarify our understanding of the position as regards NHS acces to Zetoc.
As neither the British Library nor MIMAS had received any communication or
warning that the National Library for Health were going to discontinue
offering ZETOC access to their users, the British Library have now released
the following statement:
"Further to the announcement made by the NLH regarding the Zetoc service, a
number of regional libraries have contacted MIMAS and the British Library to
enquire whether they could individually continue to access the Zetoc
service. As a holding position we have agreed with MIMAS to leave access
open to Zetoc for NHS libraries until the end of July 2006 when our current
JISC agreement for UK HE also expires. There will be no charge for this
extended access"
We felt that we should advertise the new RSS service to all current Zetoc
users, but we appreciate that NHS users will only be able to use the service
for the next 3 months. Please do get in contact with the Zetoc Helpdesk
[log in to unmask] if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Jane Stevenson
