Hello all,
You may recall I set off a few weeks ago to try and redirect some of the
flow of BNF paper copies towards NHS library services.
Here are the (rather predictable) results of my efforts....
The Responseline provided me with an email address that a number of you
may also have tried. This drew no response to date.
I followed up today on the DoH Public Enquiry Line. I had an extensive
conversation with the current contact for the distribution of BNF at
DoH. Despite my best efforts at presenting the logical arguments for
placing a copy with the libraries I am afraid that I had no joy.
Distribution is via pharmacy departments and DoH are not prepared to
complicate this further. There are no spare copies nor are there likely
to be any. There is no recommended distribution list but the priorities
are prescribing medics and pharmacists.
Apparently we are not alone in believing some copies should come to us.
Basically - if we want paper BNF we need to extract them from the
pharmacy department, pick a doctors pocket or buy our own.
Sorry folks!
