Library Web Administrator

Applications are invited from graduates with relevant qualifications and
experience for this newly created post. The successful candidate will work
with colleagues across the service to assist in the running and
development of the library's Millennium system; to play a key role in
customising and enhancing the Web OPAC, and its integration with the
Library website and other web-based resources. There may also be
opportunities to participate in projects which relate to the development
of customer focussed services such as RSS Feed, Single Sign-On and
E-Commerce.
The person appointed will also develop and maintain the Library and
Archives website in line with the strategic objectives of the Service and
ensure that all website content is current, customer focussed and
accessible.
Candidates should have a degree or postgraduate qualification in library
and information studies, computer science or information technology, and
experience and knowledge of one or more of the following: CSS, Javascript,
CGI, Perl, XML. Experience of working with a library management system
and/or website development would be an advantage.
