A Java application developer is sought to assist in the development and implementation of Lancaster University Library's web based application, ILLOS-NG.
The Library is responsible for the inter-library loans system ILLOS, an application for managing
the inter-lending and document supply processes between libraries. A value-added successor to
ILLOS is being developed as ILLOS-NG. ILLOS-NG is a new design and build from the bottom up
of a web based application. A Java application developer is now required to join the project
team to assist in the implementation of ILLOS-NG. No experience and knowledge of either libraries
or library systems is required.
This is a post for a person who is happy working as an applications developer. The main skills
required are a sound knowledge and experience of web based Java application development, and
related technologies and protocols.
Salary on the ALC1/2 scales, £20044 - £30,002 per annum depending on skills and experience.
The appointment will be initially for a period of 12 months.
