Hello all, I am soon to become part of a pilot survey for the Meercat
text messaging service.
The pilot involves the College incorporating staff and students' mobile
phone numbers into their mis records. The staff member or student then
becomes contactable directly from a computer by sending a text message
to their mobile number.
It is assumed that this will be useful in the Learning Resources Centre,
as a way of contacting people about their overdues for instance.
Is there anyone out there using a short messaging system (SMS) and if so
doe sit work well in the LRC
As part of the pilot we would be looking to create a field in our
Library Management System for mobile number and then incorporate the
data in the download from the College mis. Does anyone have any advice
on that as well.
Thanks very much for any responses.
Peter
