Apologies for cross posting
Come and join this fascinating tour and talk. Its free too!
UC&R NW is pleased to announce an afternoon visit to the North West Film
Archive, Manchester, on Wednesday August 23rd starting at 2.30pm.
The North West Film Archive is a part of the Library Service of the
Manchester Metropolitan University. The Archive is Britain's
largest public collection outside London. It was set up in 1977 and is
the professionally recognised home for moving images made
in or about Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire. The region's
position at the forefront of industrialisation is reflected
in the Archive's Collection which is a powerful record of modern urban
society. For more information, consult the Archive's website:
www.nwfa.mmu.ac.uk
The visit will include the opportunity to view a selection of the
archive's collection and hear about how material is acquired
and conserved. Refreshments will be provided.
Please contact me by Friday August 18th if you would like to attend. The
visit is free of charge but places are limited, so book early to avoid
disappointment!
Kind regards
Jane
