Authoring Streaming Media for the World Wide Web

This course will provide participants with a thorough knowledge of how to
author web pages which provide users with access to streaming video content.
The three principal formats used during the day are Appleıs QuickTime,
Microsoftıs Windows Media and RealNetworks RealMedia, concentrating on their
use with Microsoft XP operating systems.
During the day course participants will look at
- contemporary examples of the use of media players across a range of
websites
- calling media players from scripts
- the use of player metafiles
- embedding media players
- controlling media players with Javascript
- creating custom player skins
Online access to the course notes will be provided to course participants
for further revision and reference. No programming skills are required;
anyone with a working knowledge of HTML will be able to follow the course.
