Many organisations that deal with aggression and threatening behaviour
work have the belief that the way forward is to command and control or at
worst evict and ban. However, the people that are proving troublesome are
in many cases the future 'users' and lifeblood of the Library Service.
Richard Elwell is a training consultant who works extensively with library
authorities looking at ways of accepting newcomers while maintaining an
acceptable environment for staff and existing users.

William Nicholson - Children's Author

Children's author William Nicholson will talk about his new book, Seeker
(Egmont 2005), the first instalment of his The Noble Warriors trilogy.
William's first trilogy, The Wind on Fire was universally acclaimed,
winning the Smarties Gold Award and the Blue Peter Book Award. He is also
a successful Hollywood screenwriter, whose work includes Shadowlands and
Gladiator. Copies of Seeker will be on sale after this presentation.
