***With apologies for cross-posting***
The AGM of the CILIP Library and Information History Group will be held at
2.00pm on Tuesday 13th June in the Seminar Room of the Signet Library,
Parliament Square, Edinburgh (http://www.thewss.co.uk/index.asp?
cat=Library). All are welcome, and members of the LIHG are particularly
encouraged to attend.
Audrey Walker, former Librarian and Information Services Manager at the
Signet, will then give a talk, beginning at 2.30pm, on 'Legal Libraries of
the Court of Session Quadrangle: An historical guide', and conduct a tour
of this historic building. Housing the collections of the WS Society - The
Society of Writers to Her Majesty's Signet, the Library is used both as a
working resource for members of the legal profession, and a venue for
corporate functions. This visit promises to appeal to those with an
interest in library history, the legal profession and the provision of
legal information, past and present.
The afternoon's events will be preceded by a committee meeting of the
LIHG, beginning at 12 noon, which ordinary members are welcome to attend
as observers.
For further information, and to book a place please contact the LIHG Hon.
Secretary, Anna Jones ([log in to unmask]).
