Dear all
I'm pleased to let you know that Netskills has secured extra funding
from JISC for our current 'i-Skills' workshops, aimed at
university/college managers and administrators. This doubles the
programme meaning we have an extra 150 places available.
I would very much appreciate any help in publicising the events to
managers and administrators at your institutions, especially as some of
the dates are very close (eg 17th May in Wolverhampton and 24th May in
London). Details of the workshop programme are copied below.
I ran the workshop for the first time at Newcastle University last week,
and it proved to be a great opportunity to bring together staff from
across institutions, including managers/administrators from central
services and departments, staff development and the library.
Places are limited, but I would be keen to encourage a similar mix of
people on future events. If you would like to attend one of these events
please email me, particularly if we are hosting one of the events at or
nearby your institution.
Best wishes
Helen Conroy

Making Information Work for You:
Skills and Strategies for the Information Age
Information is powerful. Organisations are only as good, or bad, as the
information they have and how effectively they make use of it. This
workshop will help you and your organisation to harness the power of
information by:
- raising awareness of the importance of information skills ('i-skills')
in the workplace
- helping individuals and organisations assess their own information
skills
- identifying strengths and weaknesses
- developing strategies for improvement
The workshop is aimed at anyone involved in management and
administration in universities or colleges. It is being delivered by
Netskills and has been developed in consultation with the AUA
(Association of University Administrators) and its members.
