Together we are strong': peer support for learning and teaching development
A one-day conference for library and information professionals
Organised by the University of Northampton and De Montfort University
Clephan Building, De Montfort University, Leicester 8th June 2006 9.30 -
4.00
For many staff working in library and information services our experience of
teaching and learning can be episodic and fragmented. Rather than owning
sections of the curriculum we are guest lecturers, visiting speakers or
specialist advisers to course teams. How does the nature of this input
influence our development as experienced teachers and learning facilitators?
The conference, organised by two National Teaching Fellows, is intended to
provide an opportunity for library and information professionals working in
higher education to learn and reflect on approaches to peer support for
learning and teaching development. It will cover a variety of approaches on
learning and teaching development and provide an opportunity to exchange
experience not only with other library and information services staff
working in higher education but also with a wider academic community.
This event is supported by HEA SPS funding and the 'Infoteach' NTF project
