Dear List,
in case of crossposting please excuse any duplicates.
The Library at the University of Constance
(Germany) is carrying out a project on
information literacy for advanced students,
graduates, department staff, university teachers,
postdocs, and lecturers. In this context we have
certain questions aimed at an international
audience regarding information on Information
literacy for learners and teachers beyond the introductory study period.
Your help will be very much appreciated and we
would like to hear from you, either if you happen
to know someone who might be interested in
collaboration or has any other information on
projects concerning our area of interest. We are
very much interested in similar ongoing projects,
mainly for sharing experiences and evaluating them for possible adaptation.
The DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, German
Research Foundation) funded project on
information literacy took up its work in
January. It is aimed at the training and
instruction of teaching personnel and advanced
students (graduates). The project goals are not
only to explore und invent new possibilities of
training of a certain target group but to
evaluate already existing approaches. These
existing projects will be checked for possible
modification, adaptation and costumization for
the German university libraries and (more
general) european university libraries.
One of our main goals is to establish an
interdisciplinary and international link to
Universities worldwide for collating and
comparing different approaches to information
literacy for an advanced audience.
There are plans for traveling to our
collaborators within this year and we would very
much welcome to meet researchers and trainers in
this field of study abroad (travel expenses etc. are taken care of).
More information on the project is available on
the net via

or if you have any hints, ideas or suggestions
