Dear colleagues,
Many of us use the lis-ill list to send out speculative requests, and it
does have a very useful role to play in finding elusive items. However,
it is NOT necessary to reply to speculative requests if your library can
not help. The person who posted the request will know it has been
distributed, because it will pop up in their mailbox too.
Our email list is configured so that all replies go to the whole list.
This is because its primary role is as a discussion list. If you want
to send a message just to the person who posted a message, please do not
use "Reply", use "Forward" instead, and paste in their email address.
