Dear all
Is anyone else as frustrated as we are with the AGU?
Their invoices are sent out by the American Institute of Physics, and as we have dealt with that company for several years, you would think that everything would go smoothly.
In January we found our AGU access had been terminated - no grace period, no warning. We had not received an invoice and on chasing it, found that copies had been sent to the wrong contact person and the wrong building. We finally received faxed copies of the invoice after asking for them for over a week from the AIP.
Our AGU access was switched on again after we explained what has happened, but today it has been switched off again because they 'can't find our payment'. With a 40+ day turnaround in our Finance dept I explained that they would received payment in early March and also explained this to the AIP when they reminded us their grace period ends on March 1st.
I am getting a bit fed up of having to explain over and over again to both the AGU and the AIP about the invoices having never reached us when they were sent out. I am also annoyed that they behave in this way towards good customers who put several thousand dollars of business in their direction for what are key journals to our institution.
Is anyone else having the same level of irritation with the AGU or is it just us?
Best wishes to all
Louise
