Portland Customer Services is pleased to announce that it has been
appointed to handle journal subscription fulfilment on behalf of The Royal
Society. This agreement will take effect with the renewal of journal
subscriptions for 2007.
Based in London, The Royal Society is the UK's national academy of science
founded in 1660. The Royal Society publishes 7 journals in the life and
physical sciences. The Royal Society previously handled journal fulfilment
in-house.
Senior Manager of the Royal Society Publishing, Charles Lusty, said, "We

and have robust systems that are flexible enough to suit both our needs and
those of our library and subscription agent clients. Outsourcing these

This agreement brings the number of journals handled by Portland Customer
Services to over 120 on behalf of 20 publishers. Portland Customer Services
is the fulfilment and distribution arm of Portland Press Ltd. In addition
to handling journal fulfilment, PCS also offers online journal hosting,
book order processing, and membership fulfilment and conference
registration on behalf of learned societies and publishers.
