Dear Colleagues,
I am keen to ascertain if anyone else has experienced a similar problem
to ourselves regarding the five FEMS titles which transferred from
Elsevier to Blackwell wef 2006. We cancelled our print subs to these
titles when we went e-only with Elsevier in 2005, and we were therefore
suprised to see them appear on our list of "retained print spending"
with Blackwell's. Having queried this with them we have now been
invoiced for online only subscriptions to the five titles! However, our
assumption (which may be wrong!) was that as we were e-only at the time
of the transfer, e-access to the FEMS titles would simply be included in
our NESLI STM package and indeed I note that one of the reasons given
for the increase in the cost of the NESLI package this year was that
Blackwell's had added content to the collections. I have not been able
to find any written evidence which suggests that journal transfers of
this nature should be billed separately and they appear in the list of
titles within the BLA STM collection for 2006. Has anyone else had a
similar experience and if so - how did you resolve it?
I look forward to hearing from you!
