Learning Objectives - by the end of the course delegates will able to be:
Understand the role of the editor, the editorial team and reviewers, and
your relationship with these groups; gain a good understanding of the key
tasks required of an editorial assistant or administrator; understand the
journal review process and author expectations; gain useful tips on how to
manage journal administration efficiently; and gain advice on best practice
from peers.
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for Editorial Assistants, Editorial Administrators
and anyone who has up to two years' experience in an editorial
administration capacity

* Influencing skills and change management
* Key business issues affecting managing editors and publishers
Learning Objectives - by the end of the course delegates will be able to:
Understand stakeholders' needs and consider ways to establish effective
relationships; gain an overview of techniques to manage and improve their
journals; gain advice on how to positively influence stakeholders and
implement change; gain a brief overview of the essentials of the publishing
business and how they affect editorial processes and management, such as
contracts, copyright and finances; and discuss experiences and share ideas
with peers.
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at junior managing editors or equivalent editorial
personnel, with 1-2 years' experience in this role. Staff newly appointed to
these positions will also benefit provided they have some previous
experience of publishing. It is not suitable for more experienced managing
editors or publishers with more broad managerial responsibility.
