JISC Collections Licensing Workshops

JISC Collections would like to invite you to attend the licensing workshops in November. The workshops, chaired by Hazel Woodward, will provide the opportunity to learn more about the new and updated Model Licence, to share experiences and to help JISC Collections create new models for non-standard licensing. These workshops will be taking place on the following dates and locations:
November 9th 2006 - The Point Hotel, Edinburgh

November 21st 2006 - Water UK, London
Workshop Code: 0101
Lorraine Estelle, JISC Collections CEO will provide an overview of the JISC Model Licenses. This will be followed by several case studies:
Case Study 1: A case study of the work Cambridge University has done in implementing and assessing the Meridian ERM system and how the JISC Model Licence maps to the Meridian Licensing section - Patricia Killiard - Head of Electronic Services and Systems, Cambridge University
Case Study 2: A case study of work Cranfield University has done in building the Knowledge Interchange Portal and the licence negotiations undertaken in order to be able to populate it with content for corporate students - Louise Edwards - Head of the Management Information and Resource Centre, Cranfield University
Case Study 3: A case study of the work Nottingham University has done in the providing staff and students in overseas campuses with access to online resources - Ruth Jenkins - Head of Academic Services, Information Services, University of Nottingham
In addition, there will be a session on the UK Access Management Federation and JISC Legal will be there to explore the legal aspects of non standard licensing. Breakout sessions will be held in the afternoon to discuss how JISC Collections can address the licensing challenges.

There is a £50 fee for attending the workshops, which will be invoiced following completion of the online form. The fee includes lunch and refreshments.
