The extra charge is stated on the CILIP website under submission fees at the following link:

I was also surprised I had to pay an extra fee - I think it is to cover the price of your certificate. I only received my certificate last week, having chartered last September!

Hello all,
I just had the good news that I have finally been successful with getting
my chartership.
However, I was surprised to find that I now have to pay another £20 to
register. Did anyone else know that there was another charge after the
initial registration payment? I will of course have to pay it though,
because CILIP really has me over a barrel as I have already invested 4
years and a large sum of money into this process.
What do the rest of you feel about this? Am I being unreasonable by being
annoyed at having another fee - even though it is only £20?
