Hello Again

First of all I would like to apologise for my delay in sending this email (I have been in Liverpool for a week). A huge thanks to everyone for coming to the Union Rooms on August the 8th for our chartership chat and especially to Viki Lagus for bringing some examples of portfolios for us all to look through. I was particularly pleased that panic and confusion is not just emotions that are unique to me, we were all at different stages of the chartership process yet it was extremely valuable to discuss things with everyone.

We are going to meet again at the Union Rooms on Thursday September 7th at 6.30 and would like to invite anyone who couldn't make it last week and would like to come, we were all agreed at our last meeting that this is a great opportunity for us all to talk, share ideas and build contacts in a friendly, informal setting. I also have had many emails of interest and apology from interested parties (thanks for sending those)

Finally we did talk of setting up an email discussion group which I will get on to shortly, so if anyone in the North East would like to join in our virtual group who hasn't already asked can email me and I will send out a welcome message to you all in a few days time.

Karina

Subject: North East Chartership

Hello there

There are three of us at Newcastle University going for chartership in
2006. On the 8th August we (me, David Morrow and Jackie Dunn) plus our
friend Joanne Mullen from the RVI library are going to get together in
the evening to discuss how we are getting on and exchange advice on our
portfolio's.

Not everyone has been as fortunate as ourselves in being able to rely on
colleagues for support so we would like to invite anyone else going for
chartership in the North East to join us for a chat (and a drink) as a
way of starting up an informal support group.

We will be in the no-smoking room of the Wetherspoons Union Rooms Pub
near Newcastle Central Station from 6.30pm on August 8th for anyone who
would like to join us. Interested parties can send me an email of
introduction before the 8th or just turn up on the night. I am very
tempted to say we will all be carrying a bunch of red carnations for
identification, but we won't, however, to make identification easier, I
will be wearing my work ID badge.

Hopefully see you then.

Karina
