Hi Amy (and list!),
I'm just starting the chartership process so I'm not sure if there is a
right or a wrong answer to this - however I would be tempted to use a
skills-based CV (one that identifies and groups skills gained from
different jobs under a few headings e.g. Information Management, KM,
Professional, Research, Communication etc) if only because it shows that
you have considered what skills you have developed rather than simply
listing job responsibilities.
For more information about Skills-based CVs have a look at the bottom of
CILIP/INFOmatch's pages on CVs
http://www.cilip.org.uk/jobscareers/infomatch/ww/cvguide/cv.htm and also
the example from Prospects at
http://www.prospects.ac.uk/downloads/documents/prospects/IDD/Special%20I
nterests%20Series/CVs/2006/Skills-based_CV.pdf
Hope this helps,
Karen

Subject: Portfolio CV query
Hi Everyone,
I hope somebody can help. I'm close to submitting my portfolio and am
just completing my CV, but I am unsure as to the kind of CV it needs to
be. On one hand I have been told to just put in a CV you'd use to get a
job and on another I have heard that it needs to be a CV specifically
for Chartership.
Please can anyone give me any advice as to the type of CV it needs to
be, so I don't do the wrong thing?
Thanks,
Amy
