Subject: Clinical Trial Publication Types
Hiya,
Currently within Medline, there is some confusion over the PT types.
CURRENT:
Biographies
Case reports
Clinical trials (any phase)
Comments
Congresses
Controlled clinical trials
Editorials
Evaluation studies
Guidelines
Historical articles
Journal articles
Letters
Meta-analysis articles
Multicenter studies
News
Newspaper articles
Randomized controlled trials
Review articles
Validation studies
Clinical Trials was designed to pick up certain trial types based on
previous customer requests, but does not bring in all sub types as per
the general understanding of how the thesaurus works.
WILL BE CHANGED TO
Biographies
Case reports
Clinical trials (any phase)
Clinical trials phase I
Clinical trials phase II
Clinical trials phase III
Clinical trials phase IV
Comments
Congresses
Controlled clinical trials
Editorials
Evaluation studies
Guidelines
Historical articles
Journal articles
Letters
Meta-analysis articles
Multicenter studies
News
Newspaper articles
Randomized controlled trials
Review articles
Validation studies
and 'Clinical trials (any phase)' would pick up the following:
clinial trials phase 1,2,3 and 4; controlled clinical trials;
multicenter studies; randomized controlled trials.
Don't forget, when dealing with these lists, you can select multiple
choices using the CTRL and SHIFT keys on your keyboard to select either
individual choices or a series of choices.
This has been implemented and will appear within the interface Saturday
morning.
