we will open a position for the Interactive European Grids project. The goal
of the project is to extend gLite for supporting
1. Interactive Job Submission (zero queuetime + job steering)
2. MPI inside and across sites
3. New applications (that require the above) on the grid
...and a lot more.
The project will pick up the work started in CrossGrid in May and will be done
in collaboration with EGEE.

Job Description: In the context of the 6th Framework Programme the EU Project
"Interactive European Grid" (int.eu.grid) you are responsible for designing a
solution for managing the FZK Cluster in int.eu.grid. You will deploy an
automatic compilation and packaging system for the int.eu.grid software.
Furthermore you will work on defining policies for sharing resources with
respect to interactive usage. You will also be given the duty to publish the
results of the work.
Qualifications: In addition to a university degree in either computerscience,
mathemathics or physics, previous experience in linux administration and grid
computing is essential. Furthermore experience in the languages shell, perl
and python is required. Knowledge in , C/C++, Java, PHP, SQL, Matlab and
Octave would be advantageous but not required.
Payment: The allowment will be according to TVoeD
Institute: Institute for scientific computing (IWR)
Contract: A contract of 2 years will be offered to the successful candidate.
