why can't the new clients talk to the old servers? this is pretty bad.
it means that in principle all sites supporting ATLAS should not yet
upgrade to 2.7.
in general anything that requires 'upgrading the entire grid at once' is
a bad idea. we've been trying to get away from that since EDG 1.2!!
